Back in February, we featured the bewitching debut single, Holding On, from Swedish singer, songwriter and producer Thea Gustafsson, aka Becky and the Birds. Fast forward three months and last Friday she released her brilliant self-titled debut EP containing the aforementioned single and follow up track Concept Store. It’s a beautifully produced EP, with a glorious blend of eclectic alt-pop, 90s R&B and dreamy trip-hop vibes all stitched together with soul-stirring spoken word vocal samples. There’s a real sense intimacy as you engulf yourself in her lush musical world, none more so than in the delicate Die While You Love Me. A seductive and upbeat electronic alt-pop number with a magnificent soaring chorus fit for any alternative R&B or soul playlist.
