We say
Berlin-based Australian five-piece Parcels are a band that have made quite a name for themselves over the last year. Having formed at school, the Bryon Bay natives moved to Berlin three years ago after graduating and were quickly signed to Kitsune. After the band’s first French show they were introduced to Daft Punk, who offered to produce a track for them. That track, Overnight, was released last year and was an immediate smash, which has so far clocked up over 19m streams. This irresistible and funk-fuelled gem is their gorgeous follow up which blends crate-digging disco grooves, a taut indie sensibility, and effortlessly uplifting harmonies in one blissfully sweet summer tune. Upon release last week, it was featured on 23 Spotify New Music Friday playlists and added to numerous editorial playlists, including Summer Party, Sunny and A Perfect Day. NME, Rolling Stone, and Pitchfork are some of their online admirers whilst the band has played sessions for Radio 1 (Huw Stephens) and Spotify. The band will play All Points East festival later this month and will return in November to tour the UK, including a show at the Roundhouse in London.
