Queendom
We say
We are massive fans of Norwegian alt-pop star Aurora and last featured her back in 2016 with her previous single, Conqueror, from her brilliant debut album All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend. Last month she signalled her spectacular return with this joyous and gorgeous pop gem from her forthcoming second album out later this year. As always, it's Aurora’s captivating vocal that draws you into her lavish soundscape and world, a world where everyone is welcomed and differences are celebrated. Zane Lowe named it his World Record on its first global play and in its first week of release, Queendom amassed over 1.1m streams on Spotify after being included in 26 New Music Friday playlists and entering six of their Viral charts. Tastemaker support has come from the likes of Clash, Idolator, NME, The 405, and DIY magazine, whilst yesterday the beautiful Kinga Burza directed video featured on i-D magazine. Having played a sold-out show at Hoxton Hall earlier this year, she will be back in London headlining Bushstock festival on 23 June and a headline European tour is on the cards for October. Big, bold, and immediate, this is very much a statement of intent from an artist who is at her happiest when making music. Just glorious.
