This Good Friday, Marseille-based indie pop prodigy Mathiew Hocine’s project Kid Francescoli will be playing the 100 Club in London as part of their European tour promoting the new album Play Me Again.  Released last year in France as a follow-up to his successful third album With Julia, the release continues the love story and musical evolution of his relationship with New York singer Julia Minkin. It’s a delicious concoction of infectious electronic hooks, future R&B production, and an irresistible sprinkling of that decidedly French retro-futurists sound reminiscent of Air and Sébastien Tellier. Our featured track, Bad Girls is a sumptuous example of this and is ready made for the UK airwaves, as well as potential sync opportunities with its addictive melodies, quirky tempo and sublime vocals. With over 14 million combined streams and tastemaker support from Radio Nova, RFI, France Inter, Spotify, Deezer and Apple in their native France, perhaps it’s about time the UK follows suit.
