So Real
We say
So Real is the astonishing emotive and cinematic new single from Australian multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer Deutsch Duke aka Dennis Dowlut. Having collaborated and featured on tracks with Flight Facilities, Muto, and Set Mo, the latter of which has had over 13 million plays, So Real is his debut solo release on TMW music’s new urban electronic sub-label Risqué Music. Written about the loss of his brother, the track is a beautiful expression of cathartic release awash with evocative and atmospheric electronica. From the warped vocal refrain of “Remember me, remember me” to the gorgeous trip-hop groove, this is an utterly stunning track perfect for sync opportunities and playlists abound. Released last Friday, tastemaker support has so far come from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit, Earmilk, KCRW, and Triple J, plus additions to Spotify’s New Music Friday AU & NZ, Viral 50 (AU & DE), and Top Shelf Electronic playlists among others. Later this year he will be dropping a mixtape full of new material, but for now, we will just have to bask in this glorious downtempo masterpiece. Deft, soulful and vocally rich.
