Dig Deep
We say
Lxandra is a 21-year-old Berlin-based artist who first came to our attention last year with her beautiful piano-led debut single Flicker. Originally from the Finnish island of Suomenlinna, she moved to Berlin two years ago to work on her debut album after writing Flicker, which has amassed nearly 1 million streams, with Finnish producer Perttu Kurttila in the city. Released today, her new single, Dig Deep is a powerfully emotive track that combines electronic influences with atmospheric instrumentation and rousing piano melodies to create a gloriously grandiose pop gem in the vein of Florence and the Machine and Adele. With its infectious chorus line of “Dig deep baby, deep baby / there’s so much we can’t see baby, see baby” and mesmerising vocals, it’s destined for mass airplay on radio, as well as additions to any pop, indie, and uplifting contextual playlists. The track has already been added to Spotify’s New Music Friday’s playlist in 21 countries, as well as support at Napster and Apple. Further tastemaker support has come from the likes of Idolator, Kick Kick Snare, When The Horn Belows, and The Metro, although it wouldn’t surprise us if over the next week or two many more will be praising this seriously talented Finnish pop artist. Absolutely spellbinding.
