Love Machine
We say
It’s been 20 years since JB Dunckel, one half of seminal French duo, Air, released the phenomenal Moon Safari and instantly became the late night easy listening go to of the time. Love Machine, his new single from his forthcoming solo album, H+, continues to build on those trademark aesthetics with a sci-fi dose of shimmery, dreamlike orchestration and swirling, hazy synths. Released on Valentine’s Day, it’s a gorgeous, cinematically rendered love letter to a younger woman and became one of the top 10 most blogged tracks of the week on Hype M, championed by the likes of Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan and Cool Hunting among others. Further tastemaker support has come from iD magazine (who premiered the track), Music Week, Pitchfork and Spotify France included it in their New Music Friday playlist, whilst radio support is confirmed in the coming weeks from BBC 6 Music, KCRW (USA), Double J (Australia) and Fritz Radio (Germany). His previous singles from his new solo work, Hold On and Transhumanity garnered praise from numerous online blogs (including Earmilk, Discobelle & Consequence of Sound) and editorial playlist support at Spotify, Apple, and Napster. Beautifully retro yet futuristic, this is a luscious and sensual ode to love.
