We say

Welles is the Arkansas-based project of 23-year-old singer, and multi-talented musician Jesse Wells, and within thirty seconds we guarantee you will be drawn into this broodingly melancholic and hypnotic rock banger. Produced by Grammy award-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), Seventeen is a heart aching blend of beautifully strummed acoustic guitar parts, jarringly emotive vocals, and sweaty rock riffs that takes its cues from early Radiohead and Jeff Buckley. Taken from his debut album Red Trees and White Trashes, the lead single has already garnered significant tastemaker support with Spotify featuring the track in their Totally Alternative editorial playlist, sessions with Paste Magazine, and Daytrotter, plus a live performance on Last Call with Carson Daly. Further tastemaker support has come from Nylon, Consequence of Sound and Indie Shuffle among others for his debut EP, Codeine, released last year. Having already supported Royal Blood and Greta Van Fleet across the US, Welles is currently touring Europe with Highly Suspect and will be back in the UK for a headline gig at The Shacklewell Arms, in London on 27 February. Compelling and emotional rock music from a rising rock star.
