We first brought the talented singer-songwriter ECKOES to your attention back in October last year with her intimate and downtempo single Pieces. Her new single, S.B.F, which stands for Single Black Female, is a starker and darker song than its predecessors and as the title suggests a more autobiographical tone lyrically. It’s a startlingly open and bold song with ECKOES expressing the emotional self-flagellation of giving your body to someone you know you shouldn’t. Backed by swirling synths and a slow sensual beat, S.B.F is both powerfully dramatic and soulful. With tastemaker praise from the likes of Wonderland, Indie Shuffle, Q, and Clash, plus radio support at BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio, ECKOES will be performing a session for Sofar Sounds in March and a show at the Hospital Club on 6 April.
