The Daylight Hotel
We say
The Daylight Hotel, the lead track from Ginger Wildheart’s new album Ghost In Tanglewood (out 2 March), is a rousing and deeply personal single. Written whilst receiving treatment in a mental hospital, the track offers a glimpse into the lives of its inhabitants, as Ginger openly sings about living with mental health issues. Recorded in John Kettle’s Giraffe Studios, The Daylight Hotel, musically, bridges his Wildhearts rock days with a folk and roots tinged sound that blends a sense of hope with its uplifting chorus arrangements. It’s obviously an honest and cathartic experience for Ginger, and one that has seen support already with radio plays from Gary Crowley at BBC London and a confirmed interview with RnR magazine. He will be touring throughout February/March including supporting The Levellers on their sold-out acoustic tour and a headline tour, plus he will be performing with Frank Turner at his Lost Evenings event at The Roundhouse in May. For fans of Richard Thompson, The Pogues and Steve Earle.
