Talisa feat. Karen O
We say
Do you remember Daniele Luppi and Danger Mouse’s 2011 epic project Rome co-starring Norah Jones and Jack White? The Italian musician is back, this time partnering with New York band Parquet Courts on MILANO, a brand new concept album. Inspired by mid-1980s Milan and comprised of songs about the misfits, fashionistas, outsiders and artists of the city, the lead single Talisa is a thrilling bass heavy slice of garage rock. Featuring the highly recognisable vocals of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Karen O, Talisa is a love letter to Talisa Soto, the celebrated model and actress who was a close friend and muse of Gianni Versace. Soto appeared in numerous Versace ad campaigns, on billboards across Milan and was a regular presence on the catwalks of Milan Fashion Week. MILANO will be released this Friday and this dazzling taster makes us want to explore the album, as well as Italy’s beautiful second city.
