Smarter
We say
None of us are getting any younger, and we’ve all made some dubious lifestyle choices along the way. So we can all can relate to the lyrics on the rocking good tune from Ryan Hamilton & The Traitors. Ryan is a Texas-based singer-songwriter with an edgy cool country-esque twang to his voice, complemented here by a couple of hair-metal-loving British band mates on his recent album The Devil’s In The Detail. Since its release, this song seems to be the one that's picked up heavyweight support, from Bruce Springsteen’s main man Steven Van Zandt on his Sirius XM radio show in the US, through Clint Boon at XS Manchester, Phil Alexander on Planet Rock Radio, and the team at Kerrang! Radio too. On August 25, the band perform a session on Robert Elms' Radio London show then play The Borderline that evening. We love this as it feels like it could be from that Fountains Of Wayne / early Weezer era of tongue-in-cheek guitar anthems, filled with insanely catchy, fun choruses and amps pumping at 11. Solidly executed, this witty song is sharper and smarter than the rest.
