Paradise Garage
We say
Imagine everything that you ever loved about dance music during the 1980’s and 90’s, all distilled into one perfect four-minute track for this sweltering heatwave. It's all here on this brilliantly-executed single by 23-year old rap artist Hommeboy, an Atlanta-based musician who's carving a unique niche with his debut EP titled The FUNKWITME EP. Paradise Garage is named as a tribute to the famous New York club from back in the day, and it’s produced by the UK’s Julio Bashmore (who we’ve previously featured as an artist in his own right too) but there are also collaborations from Sango, Mr. Oizo and Lando Kal. Combining positive messages with an eccentric blend of classic sounds from electronic and house anthems, you’ll even spot a vocal sample from The Real Thing’s glorious 1976 smash You To Me Are Everything in the mix on this wonderful song. Hommeboy will be performing alongside Solange, Willow Smith, Young Fathers and more In October at Afropunk Atlanta. For now though, this blisteringly catchy song should be your essential soundtrack as you tan to perfection.
