Ghost
We say
Ahead of his Into Eden showcase tonight (May 4) in London at St. Luke’s Church, this moody and atmospheric song from east London musician turan sets the tone for his EP. Touching on universal themes we all relate to like loss and love, many beautiful influences bubble through in his work, which is why he's commanded a loyal following since he first emerged around three years ago. The multi-instrumentalist blends mournful tribal beats here with the reverb-soaked guitar sound that we adore in the cinematic works of Angelo Badalamenti. When matched alongside his soulful vocal, it creates something very special. Together with producer Matt Allchin (noted for his contributions to songs by Adele and Florence), they’ve shaped amazing aural soundscapes that are enhanced by stunning visuals. With great support from tastemakers including Hunger, Clash, The 405 and Pigeons & Planes, as well as BBC Introducing at Huw Stephens at Radio 1, this latest piece adds to his impressive body of multi-sensory work to date and puts turan way ahead of his contemporaries right now.
