We say
Liverpool four-piece Polar States are an emerging band with a strong local following and a growing profile nationally too, thanks to support and plays from the likes of Huw Stephens at Radio 1 and Steve Lamacq at 6 Music. Their sound is anthemic - killer melodies, big bold indie-pop guitar riffs, and sharp lyrics to boot. All those attributes shine through on their latest track here, released last Friday (April 7), and taken from their forthcoming EP Electric. During 2016, the lads appeared at Liverpool Sound City, Tramlines in Sheffield and X&Y festival, as well as supporting Clean Cut Kid, The Japanese House and We Were Promised Jetpacks among others. They’ve sold out Liverpool’s O2 Academy twice to date, and have more live dates lined up across the coming months at festivals in Leeds, Manchester and other Northern cities, with many to follow. This impressive song sees vocalist Paul Tong asking us to consider that our real wealth comes from the love of true friends around us, not from cash itself. Smart words, from a band who'll soon shine brightly in a very big way.
