We say
A legend of the Irish music scene, thanks to his astonishing work to date across six studio albums, and his uncompromising approach to his lyrical output, Damien Dempsey is about to unveil something fresh for 2017. This thrilling title track from his new collection is a proper powerhouse of a song. When he first started his music career, he was championed by Sinead O'Connor, and can also count Morrissey as a proper fan, even getting praised to the skies by him in his autobiography. The latest album is produced by John Reynolds, and features three duets; one from Dido, another with fellow Dubliner Imelda May, and a third with Pauline Scanlon. He'll be touring Ireland, the US and Europe across the year, and there's a chance to catch him in the wonderfully intimate setting of Union Chapel in Islington on May 13. This truly superb track is full of drama and emotion, with a relentless guitar hook brilliantly pushing it along. It's an epic return for a master musician.
