We say

We've been keeping tabs on Brooklyn-based musician Vérité for some time now, always keen to hear new music from her. Our attraction began almost three years ago, and since then, she's clocked up more than 100 million Spotify streams for tracks from her EP's Echo, Sentiment and Living, and became a viral sensation recently with her cover of The 1975's song Somebody Else picking up over 60 million plays. Her forthcoming debut album Somewhere In Between was recorded in New York, London and L.A, and is set for release on June 23. Phase Me Out, the initial taster from it, received it first national play from Mistajam at Radio 1. Now comes this impressive opening song from the LP, driven by an almost-mystical melody, a memorable vocal performance and pulsing electronic rhythms. She performed in Berlin on Monday as support act to Skott, and anticipation is high for her own London headline gig this Thursday evening (April 6) at Electroworks. This is fresh, energising alt-pop of this highest calibre.
