Released today (March 3) after premiering last night on Julie Adenuga’s Beats 1 radio show, London-based trio Strong Asian Mothers show great progress here after debut EP Lynx Africa earned them much love and plays at Radio 1 from Huw Stephens, Annie Mac and Phil Taggart as well as support at Radio X and Kiss. They excel in a live scenario too. For instance, their recent sold-out headline show at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen saw them surprise fans by having a choir planted throughout the audience to open up a song, before they then brought out grime star Trim on stage with them. Online support to date has come from Pigeons & Planes, Stereogum, The Line Of Best Fit, DIY, Clash Magazine and more, and a host of summer festivals are already lined up. First though comes their next London headline show at Kamio on April 27, then The Great Escape in May. This EP title track is an all-guns-blazing slab of crunching electro pop that fuses crunching tribal beats with a myriad of rhythms and genres to create an addictive three minute musical energy burst that lingers long in the brain.
