Even before she’d turned 18, New Yorker Sarah Solovay was starting to make a name for herself in the music industry. She’d shared stages with Train and John Mayer, had a song placed on the 90210 soundtrack, and was even being compared to Regina Spektor and Christina Aguilera in the New York Times. Then she made an unexpectedly brave decision. Instead of being swept up in the surrounding buzz, Sarah left home to study at Yale for four years, throwing herself into learning about art, music and literature. And it’s a move which now gives her songs in 2017 extra depth, a newfound maturity and a sense of self. It could just be the smartest thing anyone in her position at that age would ever consider doing. Now this excellent track relaunches her career and it’s the sort of tune that resonates hugely with listeners when they hear it - lyrically catchy, cleanly produced and quite simply a solid pop song with all-round broad appeal. Set to feature on her upcoming EP due later this year, Sarah demonstrates here that she’s the full package - smart, grounded and ready to take on the world.
