Move Your Feet
We say
In 2017, good-time heads-down rock often seems like a throwback to a bygone era. But a great act like Maker deserve attention simply because the music they make is so strong. Influenced by early blues legends, many of whom inspired young bands in the sixties like The Rolling Stones, The Faces and later Free and Primal Scream, this is a top-notch no-nonsense ballsy guitar workout. The band recently played a sold-out gig at Rebellion in Manchester as main support to The Slydigs, who themselves are just back from touring the US and Europe with The Who. Maker’s forthcoming album is due later this year and was recorded and produced by the band at the legendary Rockfield studios along with Nick Brine, whose past production and engineering credits include Oasis, The Stone Roses and The Darkness. Next month, they’re headlining London’s iconic 100 Club on March 2. As the recent re-emergence of titles like Classic Rock and Metal Hammer show, guitar acts have hugely loyal fan power. This anthem neatly bottles the pure raw energy that fans adore into one corker of a track.
