Need It To Stay
We say
The exotically-named XOCKHA (pronounced Ex-ocka) are an unsigned Isle Of Wight four-piece whose music has generated plenty of key tastemaker support since the release of their debut EP Sleeper just over 18 months ago. Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Tom Robinson from 6 Music and Radio X’s John Kennedy have each gone on to champion different singles from the lads. Rob Da Bank even gave them the honour of being Bestival’s opening act on the main stage in 2015, leading to them supporting Rat Boy & Beach Baby, as well as headlining 2016's SummerSounds Festival in Bremen, Germany. They're former students of the IOW's highly-regarded Platform One Music College, based in Newport and all their music is self-produced. BBC Introducing South (where they've performed in session) have been hugely loyal to them since that debut release. Hoxton's Zigfrid von Underbelly hosts their upcoming London headline gig on February 10. Strong on melody, this song is a great example of their lo-fi, indie guitar dream pop, and shows precisely why they’re such a promising prospect across this year.
