Bite My Tongue
We say
The Beach is the alias of young London singer-songwriter George Morgan, and over the past 18 months he’s steadily built up more than eight million Spotify streams for his tracks to date. His fanbase has grown thanks to support slots for acts including James Bay, Tom Odell and Kodaline. He’s been working with Jamie Scott and several other producers, and we saw him play a London industry showcase last summer, when he and his band impressed us with a confident five-song set. Over the weekend, we heard him chat and in session at Radio 2 for Jo Whiley, and he also popped up too on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch yesterday (January 29). His next London headline show is at Camden Assembly on March 28. Lyrically this song describes that instant feeling of wishing you could take back something that you said in the heat of the moment, and it’s already struck a chord, with the streaming numbers matching those of his previous single Geronimo, released last June. Packed with charm and earworms. this is top-notch mainstream global pop from a charismatic British talent.
