Living In The City
We say
Rhys Lewis is a 23-year-old from Oxford whose debut single Waking Up Without You reached No.1 on Spotify’s Viral Chart. This fabulous slow-burner is the follow-up, and it grows in stature by revealing more of itself each time you hear it. Rhys spent 2016 between studios in London, Nashville, Stockholm, LA and Berlin, writing and recording songs from his debut album due later in the year. This song was produced by Boe Weaver, a production duo based on the Isle Of Wight at Studio Hamburg. It’s clean and crisp, letting Rhys’ voice soar with a rich, soulful sound that he seems totally at ease with. Lyrically the song tackles that unique love/hate relationship we all face living in today's crazy world, and it all leads to an anthemic gospel workout as it ends. His discovery was through BBC Introducing Oxford, and he’s since picked up tastemaker press from Clash, Wonderland, Crack In The Road and more. Aside from an upcoming Decca showcase, his next London gig will be at The Borderline on March 30. For now, this fantastic track sounds tailor-made to charm the entire world.
