We say
Making quite an impact at her first big international live debut outside of Scandinavia at Eurosonic last week, Rein is the Swedish popstar that a whole host of tastemakers all getting very excited about. This alter-ego of Joanna Reinikainen burst onto the scene at the start of last year with her critically acclaimed self-titled EP and the subsequent single I Don’t Get Anything But Shit From You. Blending full-on electro and punk influences with tightly crafted pop sensibilities and a fierce attitude, this track is the sort of thing we could imagine The KLF would ask Lady Gaga to collaborate with them on for their first new single in almost 25 years, probably all dressed as marauding vikings. With glowing reviews to date for her music from blogs and mags including Fame, Clash Music, Scandipop, Ja Ja Ja Music, Idolator and Post Punk, she’s already causing a stir and also picked up two nominations at Sweden’s prestigious P3 Guid national radio awards. Brash, noisy, in-your-face, and all over in a little more than just two minutes, job done. In a nutshell, isn’t that what all great pop should be like?
