Weightless
We say
Singer-songwriter Will Whisson was formerly a member of Kent rockers Electric River, who released their highly acclaimed debut album before going on hiatus a year ago. Since then, he's begun his new solo venture whilst living out of a old campervan, playing live across seven countries in the past five months alone, showcasing his solo songs to crowds in Europe and Scandinavia. His debut EP titled Age Of Wonder was produced by Brett Shaw, who recorded Jess Glynne’s vocals for Clean Bandit’s global smash Rather Be, and has also worked with other great acts including Daughter and Florence & The Machine. This featured track from the EP begins wistfully before stepping up the tempo to become a rather beautiful acoustic guitar song reminiscent of Ben Howard at his very best. The video was recently premiered by Clash magazine, and a new EP is promised soon to coincide with Irish tour dates in February, before UK shows in March and mainland Europe in the spring. He’ll be winning lots of new friends in 2017 with this simply gorgeous blend of organic folk-tinged pop, that’s for sure.
