Currently seeking a label and management, Yola Carter is a supremely talented British artist whose remarkable voice shines through on her recent self-released EP Orphan Offering. She was born and raised just outside Bristol, absorbing the sounds of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, The Staple Singers, The Band and Otis Redding. Gospel, country and soul have all influenced her sound and career to date, but she’s also an accomplished pop writer too, having worked with Chase & Status, Katy Perry and Will Young during her stint in London a few years ago. Now though, she's taking her own spotlight. Plaudits came after she wowed the crowd at September's American Music Conference in Nashville, where she was part of the official British Underground and AMA UK showcase. It’s led to her being named AMA UK’s Best New Act, and to a whole heap of 2017 festival bookings in the UK, Ireland and Canada, with more to come. Her first London headline show is at The Borderline on December 19, and this track is one of NPR Music’s Top 100 Songs of 2016. One word - outstanding.
