German duo Kilian & Jo hook up here with Swedish artist Erik Rapp for an absolutely glorious track that turns into an essential club banger after the stripped-back intro. Erik is best described as a sort of blue-eyed version of Frank Ocean. He’s already had a bit of success in the past in the Nordics and co-wrote the song when the two parties hit it off in Stockholm, collaborating to create something rather special indeed. Erik’s signed to Virgin/Universal in Sweden, but currently has no UK label. We think that might change rather rapidly once people start hearing how engaging his vocal is here. With 10.7 million Spotify plays for this track already under their belts, Erik and Kilian & Jo are performing in London tonight (December 1) at The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington, as support to Sara Hartman. The combined forces of German techno-edged production and that soulful pop voice have pushed this to Gold status in Sweden. Now it deserves to be a truly massive hit across the rest of the planet as we head into the new year. You might as well surrender to its wonderfulness immediately.
