London-based, but originally from Great Yarmouth, John Galea is an award-winning singer-songwriter with considerable experience already under his belt. He started writing aged 13 and later became a classically-trained pianist. He’s toured in the past with McFly and Lemar, worked with the team at Beluga Heights (the masterminds behind global smashes for Jason Derulo, Rihanna and Britney), seen his song Trendsetter become a German No.1 for teen sensation Joelina, and notched up over a million YouTube hits as an independent, unpublished artist. The song Bang Boom by Black Butter act Lao Ra was our Record of the Week in our magazine last Thursday (November 10) and was co-written John. Now he’s about to launch his latest seven-track EP Missing Pages at London's Obar this Monday (November 21), which sees him pair up with Frankmusik and Oscar Lo Brutto, and from where this piano-led ballad comes. Packed with emotion and soul-searching, it tells of his personal struggle with bisexuality. It's beautifully-crafted, raw and moving. A poignant song and pure quality.
