Change Of Heart
We say
Vaness Alegacy hails from Toronto and this is her debut solo track. She began her musical career as the lead singer in one of the Canadian’s city’s rock bands, before deciding to flip things around just over a year ago, instead pursuing a more urban pop route. And it’s one that suits her voice brilliantly on the evidence of this great track. Raised by Italian parents, her voice was shaped through performing gospel in West Indian churches across the city, and this song was lyrically inspired by a story line from a Grey’s Anatomy episode that she watched one evening. Hooking up with old high school friend and former bandmate Giordan Postorino, he was then able to match the musical style to the words and give the whole thing exactly the right sonic feel. It’s that oh-so familiar and relateable tale of falling in love, getting hurt and heart broken, thinking you’ll never find love again, but then finding that moment of clarity to dust yourself down and crack on with life. Bold, confident and full of passion, this is accomplished R&B electro pop that should easily establish Vaness on the global stage.
