With the latest track from their excellent debut album Stadium Cake, it’s a welcome return for Oh Pep!, the Aussie duo who started performing together whilst they were still at secondary school in Melbourne. Last time we featured their addictive off-kilter gem Doctor Doctor, just ahead their arrival in Britain to play at The Great Escape in May. Since then they’ve toured the U.S with Nathaniel Ratecliff and the Night Sweats, The Mountain Goats, Lord Huron, and supported Lake Street Dive across Europe. Along the away, their album has picked up a host of great reviews from tastemakers including Rolling Stone, Stereogum, Bandcamp, Consequence of Sound and Paste magazine. Now, after a bunch of sold-out gigs, including the Mercury Lounge in New York, they’re playing their first-ever headline dates in the UK this week and next, starting at The Latest Music Bar in Brighton tomorrow (October 25) and with a London show at The Lexington this Friday night (October 28). It’s hard to pigeonhole Olivia and Pepita’s rich sound, which makes it all the more engaging. Just file it under 'life-affirming'.
