We make no apologies for featuring this great track from REWS again, almost a month since we last put the spotlight on the song. A lot has happened since then. Over 200 people were turned away from their sold out showcase at Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival, thanks to the buzz created by key tastemakers like John Kennedy at Radio X (who’s described the duo as one of his favourite new bands of 2016) and Radio 1’s Huw Stephens. Huw chose this as his Tip Of The Week soon after that gig, was the first person to play it on the station, and went on to select it to receive 38 additional plays across the entire BBC network last weekend, including a spin on Tom Robinson’s 6Music show. This is the fourth single from Shauna and Collette and their appeal looks set to cross over from specialist fans into that of mainstream attention too. The music they make is cleverly crafted with earworms aplenty, and it’s clearly gaining traction as their live reputation grows. With two more weeks still to go before official release, this memorable crunchy pop anthem makes their 2017 prospects very tasty indeed.
