We say

Ahead of two key gigs this week, we spotlight REWS, whose hook-laden Death Yawn we featured most recently back in February. This latest is their fourth release and looks set to consolidate on the attention they’ve already had from Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Steve Lamacq at 6Music, BBC Introducing, John Kennedy at Radio X, Virgin Radio, Kerrang! and Planet Rock, particularly with their recent track Shake Shake. Once more, Shauna and Collette show they have a knack for crafting guitar-driven spiky pop anthems. Starting off as a brooding tune with drums and bass to the fore, they unleash a memorable killer chorus with an edge. After a busy summer on the festival circuit honing their stage show, they’ll be launching the single with a London gig this Wednesday (September 21) at The Islington before heading off for a showcase in Hamburg at the Reeperbahn Festival this Friday (September 23). Having done pretty much everything so far thanks to crowdfunding and their DIY approach, it feels like the next step up for REWS is tantalisingly close. This track is a proper corker.
