We say
Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards are Californian duo Deap Vally and we’ve been fans of their music since we featured their debut single Gonna Make My Own Money in July 2012. All fired up and ready to unleash their wonderfully-titled album Femijism, the first single from it titled Smile More received huge support across Radio 1, Virgin Radio, Beats 1, Radio X, Kerrang! Radio and Amazing Radio, with sessions too for John Kennedy, Edith Bowman and the NME. Annie Mac crowned that track as her Hottest Record In The World and did the same with this superb second single on Monday evening (August 15). It’s an absolute stomper, with thumping drum riffs and frantic guitar licks underpinning an urgent and direct vocal that’s in your face and leaves no room for compromise. But the live scenario is where they shine brightest, so for the full unmissable experience catch them across the UK this Autumn including a London date at Islington Assembly Hall on album release day (September 16). Confident, bold, assured and imbued with the true punk spirit, this tune truly rocks.
