Belgian musician Max Colombie is the artist behind Oscar and The Wolf, an act that’s already a familiar name in his homeland. His 2014 album Entity was a 10-week No.1 there, and helped him gain global recognition amongst cool tastemakers. After achieving over 20m Spotify plays for his tracks, he’s just released this song and managed to add almost half a million streams to that tally in less than a fortnight. Co-produced by the wonderfully-named Noah Breakfast (one of the contributors to Christine & The Queens current album), this song made the Top 3 on Hype Machine and he’s earned support from Billboard, Pigeons and Planes, Noisey, Nylon, and Popjustice. He’s sold out Antwerp's 20,000-capacity Sportpaleis Arena and will be headlining the final night of Belgium’s legendary Pukkelpop music festival next weekend, above Biffy Clyro, Bring Me The Horizon and LCD Soundsystem. Now his attention turns to the UK and beyond with this twisted slice of dark minimalist electro R&B. If The Weeknd wants inspiration for his next LP, we suggest it’s all here on plate.
