Icarus
We say
Featuring the funkiest bassline you’ll hear anywhere this summer, this immense track from Them&Us truly deserves to explode in a very big way, we reckon. The UK-based electronic dance duo comprise of former Basement Jaxx vocalist Ami Carmine and acclaimed beat-boxer Killa Kela, and this title cut from their third EP is the best thing they’ve done to date. Additional production comes from James Rushent from the band Does It Offend You, Yeah?, son of the late great Martin Rushent (the genius behind Human League’s hit-packed 1981 album Dare). James has also worked with the Prodigy and Major Lazer so has that ear for big euphoric sounds, as he confidently demonstrates here. Early support on this track has come from Chris Muckley at the influential KCRW and Sirius XM in the States and Radio 1’s B-Traits is a huge fan of the song too. See them perform live in London tomorrow night (July 13) at the Collective Sounds Music Media Event at The Social. We always love being among the first to get on board with a track as fantastic as this. Turn this up loud - it’s absolutely wonderful.
