Prepare to let your cares of the day ahead just drift away with this sublime song from Rosie Carney. We were instantly impressed with this beautiful track from the 19-year old singer-songwriter, who was originally born in Hampshire but now resides in the northern coastal town of Downings, County Donegal, from where she’s been creating quite a buzz on the Irish music scene. And it’s easy to hear why. She started off composing her own classical pieces on the piano at the age of 10, and that gave her confidence to be able to express herself and her inner emotions through honest, heart-on-her-sleeve compositions across her teenage years right up to now. Having recently supported acts including SOAK, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Saint Sister, and with a showcase at this year’s SXSW under her belt, she first came to the attention of many London-based tastemakers with a stunning performance at St Pancras Old Church last year. Released through the same indie label that brought us the acclaimed debut album from Phoria last month, this is touching, fragile and simply exquisite.
