Full Moon
We say
After recently impressing audiences at The Great Escape and the Isle Of Wight festival, Hull-based FRONTEERS are about to release their debut EP Streets We’re Born In on local label Warren Records, and this track from it is a perfect introduction to the band. The four-piece have already picked up some key tastemaker fans, and in the past week alone Radio 1’s Huw Stephens has played this twice, alongside Steve Lamacq at 6Music, Janice Long at Radio 2 and Phil Clifton at Radio X as This Feeling’s Track Of The Week. That’s on top of the support all of them gave to previous ingle Idol. The Yorkshire lads condense so many great guitar influences into this three minute burst of hook-laden energy. You’ll spot early Supergrass, The La’s, Franz Ferdinand and so many more in the mix, but there are also some fine sixties psychedelic chord progressions too that set the boys apart from the rest of the hungry young bands around today. They’ve toured with Blossoms and are getting much love already from Q, NME and Clash among many others. Keep close tabs on this lot. This is the best to date.
