If you ever doubted new British rock was on the up this summer, The Wholls will cast any negativity away immediately. We keep on featuring the band as the heat around them builds rapidly and we sense that crucial breakthrough is imminent. Their superb track X21 made its way onto Radio 1’s playlist at the start of the year, they played The Great Escape, Dot To Dot and Sound City, and have more summer sets lined up plus forthcoming London shows at Nambucca, The Scoop and The Hippodrome. We keep hearing this track synced on radio and TV sport including F1, Champions League and ITV’s recent England/Portugal coverage. So it’s all happening for them. And deservedly so. They’ve certainly got the ability to work a crowd, as you’ll witness on the Jack Daniels Stage at the legendary Isle Of Wight Festival this Sunday (June 12) as part of the tastemaker-showcase event This Feeling. Lots of other UK guitar acts are hotly-tipped right now, but these guys are the ones that really have Oasis or Kasabian-sized success in their sights. This song proves they can also pull it off.
