Let's Fall In Love Some More
We say
Performing an afternoon gig at Brighton's Prince Albert to kick things off at The Great Escape next Thursday afternoon (May 19), South African four-piece Al Bairre are a group we featured a year ago but whose profile is red-hot right now. Last time around we shone a spotlight on their spunky track Bungalow but twelve months on, it’s this exuberant acoustic-driven gem that’s getting attention worldwide. In the past few weeks, the song has gone viral with almost 900,000 streams and 20,000 fans alone on Spotify in the UK, and it comes from their recent eight-track mini album Experience The Al Bairre Show With Al Bairre Experience. Their live shows carry a word-of-mouth buzz thanks to a myriad of musical influences ranging from Dexys at their folky best to Vampire Weekend at their most lively, and since last summer they’ve shared the stage with bands including alt-J, The Hives and St. Lucia. Catch them first, ahead of TGE, on Tuesday (May 17) for a London gig at the Queen Of Hoxton and expect their inclusive upbeat vibes to provide the soundtrack to many sun-filled days ahead.
