Silence
We say
Hailing from Wales and initially championed by BBC Introducing there, Bloodflower are Jonnie Owen and Tom Manning, who write, produce and front the duo, complimented by three other musicians when they play live. Last year, they supported Coasts and Lucy Rose on tour, performed at Cardiff’s SWN Festival, and are about to release their second EP Piano Songs, from where this accomplished slice of instantly-likeable moody electro pop comes. The boys already have two very loyal supporters: Huw Stephens at Radio 1 and John Kennedy at Radio X have played all six of their previous radio singles. Amazing Radio’s Jim Gellatly and 6Music’s Chris Hawkins have also played their tracks, and press to date has included Music Week, Artrocker and Clash. Having recently supported Boxed and NZCA Lines, their next London gig is this Friday (May 6) at Koko in Camden when they headline the Club NME show. Currently seeking management, label and publishing interest, to our ears this Hurts-inspired track is ready made for mainstream attention and is their best to date.
