Brazilian-born but London-based, PUZZLE is an artist who first captured our attention at the end of last year with the debut single Godlike. With support from Digital Spy, Clash, Beat, Wonderland, Robomagic and Gigwise, a London show at Electrowerkz was sold out and the buzz began. Now comes the accomplished follow-up and what we especially love about it is that it’s hard to define or pigeon-hole musically. There’s a minimal electro beat which lets the soulful pop vocal shine through before the chorus comes crashing in amidst a flurry of dark synth chords, very much in the style of a Martin Gore-esque composition for Depcehe Mode back in the day. There are a pair of remixes from Femme and Hits ‘O’ Good to accompany the original and there’s a very special live show (presented by This Is Global and featuring an ambitious visual backdrop to the music) this coming Wednesday (March 9) at London’s Courtyard Theatre. Currently unsigned but with much interest in both the bold visual and cool audio side of their work, just be aware that PUZZLE could break big very soon indeed.
