Enough
We say
John Parry is an 18-year old singer-songwriter from east London who’s about to release his debut self-produced EP. This title song is a perfect introduction to his work if you’ve missed out on the other tracks that he’s released to date, setting the brooding frustrated tone of a young man finding his way in the world but uninhibited in his need to share his innermost feelings and thoughts with us all. All of his songs are filled with hope, as he explores his life, loves, experiences and surroundings in a refreshingly honest way. It’s an approach that’s seeing interest in him grow after recent gigs at The Social in London along with Lovebox last summer and a support slot with Fismoll at The Garage. His acoustic style and tenor voice is in keeping with the music of Ben Howard but mixed with the sort of lyrical observations you’d find from someone like Mike Skinner. Tomorrow (March 4) he’s hosting a Pop-Up Shop Release Party at Chrisp Street in Poplar. Already championed by Shell Zenner at Amazing Radio, we’re intrigued to absorb more from this engaging artist.
