We say

With the opening episode of The Voice for 2016 hitting BBC1 tomorrow night (January 9), last year’s winner, Scottish musician Stevie McCrorie releases his debut album Big World today, full of solid, self-penned songs about his family and his life. From it comes this track that’s picking up airplay already and is set to be further propelled into the mainstream with a host of daytime TV slots in the coming few weeks. Stevie’s a former fireman who’s already scored a Top 10 last spring with his single Lost Stars. The autobiographical tale told in the lyrics here describe how tough he found it all being away from his partner and kids for so long whilst filming last year’s series, but all with a view to help give them a better life ahead. It’s genuine heartfelt stuff and he’s already well-loved particularly back home in Scotland where he’s already played a sold-out gig at the legendary King Tuts in Glasgow, as well as at 2015’s T In The Park festival. Championed and mentored by Ricky Wilson from Kaiser Chiefs, Stevie's broad appeal is competently showcased with this great acoustic radio-friendy tune.
