Three months ago, we first featured 21-year old Sydney-based musician Nick de la Hoyde with his slick pop track By My Side. Now he returns, fresh for 2016, with a song that should help grow his already-loyal fanbase of Instagram and YouTube followers. Like his fellow Aussie Troye Sivan, Nick makes music that connects with his audience on a deep and personal level, with his rap and lyrics telling of his introspective thoughts and feelings via an upbeat feel-good groove. Released to Australian radio just before Christmas, the response has been excellent with a Top 20 place on Shazam’s Future Hits Chart there and it’s currently at No.8 on the Hit30 countdown, broadcast across 2DayFM in Sydney and 44 regional stations. The single is also seeing things move for Nick in the US too with plenty of recent mainstream Top 40 station adds. This is optimistic dream-pop that urges the listener to think big and push forward with your hopes and plans for the future. And there’s no better message to start a new year with than that now, is there?
