It’s exactly 50 years ago this month since Simon & Garfunkel topped the US Billboard charts with this astonishing song, and the premise on this new version by Italian producer MHE and is so ridiculously simple, you’ll wonder why you never thought of it yourself. Keep the iconic tune totally intact, get it re-sung in the identical feel of the original, add a contemporary chilled house beat to it (in the style of Lost Frequencies or Robin Schulz’s global hits of the past 18 months) and prepare to bring the song to a whole new audience worldwide. This track follows on from The Thrill Is Gone, which was his acclaimed debut single. MHE is the alias of Gianni Romano, a former member of Daddy’s Groove, the Naples-based trio that remixed artists including Kylie, Britney, Whitney, Axwell and many more. This is just starting to take off in Italy, following its release a fortnight ago and is in their Shazam Top 5 Future Hits chart as well as their iTunes Top 10 Dance chart. Once it gets added to global Spotify playlists in the coming weeks, when Christmas is out of the way, you’re looking at an absolute smash.
