We say

There’s something rather magical going on here on this absolutely spellbinding track from Fred Page. He’s a 24-year old singer-songwriter from west London and this lead song from his debut EP Overboard is so damn beautiful in the way that it attracts you (just like the title suggests) and draws you in fully with the deceptively-sweet acoustic atmosphere and deeply personal lyrics. Recorded this past summer with Joe Janiak (noted for his work for Ellie Goulding among others), you can hear the simmering emotion to Fred’s work and the influence of several favourite artists of his, like Bon Iver and John Mayer. You may already have seen him on tour with George Ezra and Eliza & The Bear in the past, and now with a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell, he deserves to emerge as a leading contender if he carries on creating mesmerising tracks as good as this. He’s performing a free gig live in London at The Islington this Tuesday night (December 1). Magnificently-understated in its production and with such a hypnotic vocal, the class and allure of this song is a total delight.
