We say
COLOURS are a duo comprising of vocalist Kyle Tamo and drummer Morgan Alley, and we’ve been excited about finally being able to share their music with you since we first heard some early snippets from the project back in the spring. Based in Florida since 2012, they consider the artistic side of their work to be equally as crucial to the overall feel as the music itself, and that noble vision is clearly executed on this track. It’s a brooding beast of a tune that deceptively reveals itself further and further with every play, powered along by dark, moody electronic instrumentation, a falsetto chorus and crunchy, clean production from Shaun Lopez (guitarist with Deftones side-project Crosses) that’s sparse enough to allow the menacing track to shine through. It’s the lead single from their forthcoming debut album Ivory, which is due worldwide in late-February. What drew us to the project is that it possesses a lot of the qualities and imagery that we loved when Theo & Adam from Hurts unleashed their debut. Wait until you hear more of COLOURS' other superb tracks to come too.
