Stranger In Disguise
We say
Since we featured Norwegian teenager dePresno back in the spring, his profile is deservedly building and his prospects for 2016 look increasingly rosy. This is a quality, emotional break up track of heartache and confusion that possesses one of our favourite lyrics of the year to date - "You grasp my feeble hands, and like spring meets the frosty lake, I give in to your love”. Subtle, minimalist production gives his remarkable voice room to shine over the gorgeous piano flurries. It’s so rich and lush with such feeling and emotion, you’ll be eager to hear more. Thankfully an EP is promised early next year. When we chose to spotlight his first magnificent single Forever, we said that we’d love to see him live. Now some key dates are in place, including his eagerly-anticipated London debut at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on November 30 for the next Gold Dust night, plus a slot on the bill at January’s Eurosonic Nooderslag industry festival in the Netherlands. His debut (from the same production team as hotly-tipped Aurora) took our breath away. Now we’re gasping yet again. Exquisite.
