What It Is To Believe
We say
Jessica Winter and Scott Rimington are London-based duo GLASS. They formed after previously being members of the group Hall Of Mirrors, who’d featured as one of the Guardian’s Bands of the Day back in 2012. This fantastic debut track begins with an imposing semi-classical piano hook that then underpins the entire song. With great influences evident in Jessica’s vocal delivery that include Kate Bush and Tori Amos, you’ll be entranced and captivated as the beat kicks in and runs throughout the course of the song. Released through State Of the Eye Recordings (home to another Record of the Day favourite, the hugely under-rated Karin Park), there is already interest from several very cool UK labels and Yahoo will be premiering their blood-splattered video this Halloween weekend. They’re performing live tonight at London’s Kluster Rooms in Limehouse and play the Old Blue Last on December 9. Having worked with producers Craggie Dodds, Dan Carey and Dan Brown, and with a ton of music already lined up, this is one GLASS that's considerably more than half-full of talent.
