The Man Who Fell To Earth
We say
Imagine walking 500 miles along the entire south coast of England with a guitar on your back, stopping off and playing gigs along the way. It's an unconventional approach that’s won Will Varley a loyal cult following, thanks to his ability to stop you in your tracks when you hear his music. This astonishing song comes from his latest album Postcards From Ursa Minor, released this week. To promote it, he’s playing two gigs today (October 29), firstly at Banquet Records In Kingston, before heading over to The Lighthouse in Deal. Already heavily supported by Xfm/Radio X, Q, The Independent, fRoots and Time Out (who’ve named him one of their Rising Stars for 2015), Will signed to the same label (Xtra Mile Recordings) as Frank Turner in March whilst backstage at the Royal Albert Hall, just before supporting him. They’ll tour together through November (with a gig at Alexandra Palace on November 26) before he embarks on his own headline dates early next year, taking in London’s Scala on March 10. Think you've had your fill of 'blokes with acoustic guitars'? Prepare to be blown away by the beauty of this incredible track.
